„Scoala Altfel” at the Institute of Space Science

The Institute of Space Science from Magurele opens its doors this year too for the 2015 edition of the „Scoala Altfel” program during the week between 6-10 April, which will be dedicated to educational extracurricular and nonacademic activities. The activities will be held at the Tower building of the Institute of Atomic Physics (IFA), Atomistilor Street 407.

During this period the courses won’t be held according to the usual program of the educational institutions and the event will be held in accordance with a particular schedule. 

The purpose of this program is the involvement of all preschool children/pupils and teachers in activities which aim to respond to diverse interests and concerns, to highlight their talents and abilities in different areas, not necessarily the ones present in the national curriculum, and to stimulate thei involvment in various actions, in non-formal contexts.

The Institute of Space Science from the Magurele Physics platform opens its doors for students and their teachers to step into the world of science and to discover the science from science researchers, through interactive methods.

Among the activities the ISS scientist prepared for them are:

  • Interactive Exploration of space
  • Particle hunting
  • Observation of nuclear emulsions
  • Solar observations through telescope
  • „Messengers of the Universe” presentation
  • Playing the researchers – classification of galaxies and identification of Lunar Craters

The participation in these activities can be made in groups accompanied by teachers, by prior appointment.
